UK Construction Week London postponed to May 2022

1 Feb 21 The organisers of UK Construction Week (Media 10) have today announced the postponement of the 2021 London event.

The event was due to take place 5-7 May at ExCeL London. It will now move forward to 3-5 May 2022.

The situation with the pandemic has made the possibility of restrictions this spring look more certain. Whilst the Government may still stick to an April restart date for events, it now looks that restrictions are likely to be with us until the vaccine roll out reaches its conclusion.

Nathan Garnett, Director for UK Construction Week said: “With restrictions likely to stay with us for longer than we had all hoped and anticipated, we feel it would be better for all of our loyal and supportive delegates, clients and partners to postpone the May event.

If we staged an event with limited attendance, and travel restriction in place for our overseas exhibitors and visitors, we feel we would not be best serving our clients.

We are fortunate to have the award-winning UK Construction Week in October 2021 to look forward to, and with the impressive plans made to roll out the vaccine by the end of the summer to almost the entire population, we can look forward to meeting again in October with confidence.

We continue to work with a raft of industry bodies to make sure we deliver the kind of showcase the sector deserves this autumn. UK Construction Week Birmingham (5-7 October 2021) will be perfectly timed to connect the construction industry, a crucial catalyst for the UK’s economic recovery.”

UK Construction Week in October will be the UK’s first major construction exhibition for over 18 months, and it will be the first edition of the trade show since it won an AEO award for “Best UK Trade Show” for the 2019 event.

The UK Construction Week team and partners will also deliver virtual events in March and May, which will offer the chance for the sector to network, meet suppliers, forge new opportunities as well as gain essential education. More details will be announced in the coming days.
