In my young days father and many uncles were in the construction industry, centred in Exeter, Devon until father was promoted and moved by Wimpeys to Bristol and Belfast before settling back into Bristol. Whilst my hands may not have shared the skills of other members of the family, my grey cells loved figures, plans and planning. After working on the construction of the M5 through Somerset and building several houses in Bristol I decided to step sideways into the world of accountancy working to the advantage of many family companies and self employed/CIS tradesmen.
