Bidders' day for LDA's 11,000-home development plans

15 Oct 10 The London Development Agency (LDA) is to hold a bidders' open day to provide further detail on its plans to develop up to 11,000 homes across the capital.

The London Development Agency (LDA) is to hold a bidders' open day to provide further detail on its plans to develop up to 11,000 homes across the capital.

The agency plans to establish the London Housing and Property Company to fast-track development of the homes. It has identified sites with a capacity for 8,000 to 11,000 homes, subject to planning consent.

The LDA wants to appoint a private sector development partner to a framework agreement, on a design, build, finance and operate basis.

The successful bidder would be given exclusive rights to develop a pipeline of sites owned by the LDA, and the opportunity to develop schemes on land owned by local authorities.

The agency is inviting interested suppliers to a developers forum on 3 November to give an overview of progress. Companies wishing to attend should email Hannah Lester by 22 October.
