A construction worker has been killed during redevelopment work at Hampshire’s Rose Bowl cricket ground.
Police have named the man as Philip Carsley from North Yorkshire. It is thought he was struck by a concrete block that fell during lifting operations on the site near Southampton.
The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance were called but he died at the scene.
Police and the Health and Safety Executive are now investigating.
