23 Sep 10 Galliford Try has reached financial close on a £26.2m contract to redevelop Finchley Memorial Hospital in north London.

Galliford Try has reached financial close on a £26.2m contract to redevelop Finchley Memorial Hospital in north London.

The construction group won the deal as NHS LIFT framework partner of Elevate Partnerships, the LIFTco for Barnet, Enfield and Haringey.

The project will be carried out in two phases. In the first phase, Galliford Try will undertake the construction of the new hospital next to the site of the current hospital building. The second phase will involve the decant and demolition of the existing hospital followed by landscaping of the site.

The new hospital is expected to achieve a BREEAM rating of "Excellent."

Work on site will commence in October with completion of the first phase in July 2012 and the second phase in July 2013.
