16 Aug 10 A consortium of Midlands housing associations is calling for contractors to pitch for two construction and maintenance frameworks worth up to £380m in total.

A consortium of Midlands housing associations is calling for contractors to pitch for two construction and maintenance frameworks worth up to £380m in total.

The 10-year frameworks are being advertised by the Central Housing Investment Consortium.

The first framework covers a range of planned external housing upgrades, including repairs and replacement of pitched and flat roofs, manufacture and installation of windows and doors, cyclical decorations, groundworks, and insulation to cavitys and roof spaces. It is worth up to £181m, and will be divided into 30 lots.

The second framework comprises responsive repairs (including call handling), works to void properties, maintenance of drainage systems, replacement of kitchens and bathrooms, electrical repairs and upgrading. It is worth up to £199m, and will be divided into 17 lots.

The consortium comprises nine registered social housing providers: Bromsgrove District Housing Trust; Festival Housing Group; Friendship Care and Housing; Herefordshire Housing; Longhurst & Havelok Homes; Severn Vale Housing Society; Shropshire Housing Group; Two Rivers Housing; and Worcester Community Housing.

The deadline for expressions of interest is 1 September.
