Citi Logik was formed in 2012 to provide clients with studies of how and where people and traffic move around by studying mobile phone data. Two year ago the company was taken over by private equity. Liquidators were appointed on 30th November 2022.

Amey has now taken over the operations of Leeds-based Citi Logik, its first acquisition under its own private equity ownership –Buckthorn Partners and One Equity Partners (OEP) completed their £400m acquisition of Amey from Ferrovial on 30th December 2022.

The team from Citi Logik will form part of Amey Consulting’s Advisory & Analytics offering, which already uses data science for clients including Network Rail, National Highways and Transport for Wales.

Alex Gilbert, managing director of Amey Consulting, said: “We could see a clear alignment between the skills we have in our Amey Consulting business and those of the team at Citi Logik. This presents a really exciting opportunity to develop new products and services, using mobile network data alongside our proprietary technology. This will allow us to provide our clients, the owners of critical national infrastructure, with ground-breaking analytics services, that will help create better and safer transport networks for the public and which, in turn, will support economic growth.”

Since 2012, Citi Logik worked on more than 100 transport and urban planning projects, with clients including the Greater London Authority, Northern Ireland’s Department for the Economy, Govia Thameslink and several local authorities.
