BAM wins €83m of German contracts

27 Nov 12 BAM Deutschland has won contracts for the construction of an IT centre for the city of Munich and a PPP school in Frankfurt am Main.

Stadtwerke München has awarded BAM Deutschland the €63m (£51m) contract to build the computer center in the city district of Moosach. This ‘IT Rathaus’ Munich includes a service department of approximately 30,000m2 and a data centre of over 7,000m2 It will be the workplace for more than 650 employees. The IT center is designed by h4a Gessert + Rand Ecker Architects BDA from Stuttgart. BAM Deutschland will complete the IT Rathaus during 2014.

For the education department of the city of Frankfurt am Main, BAM Deutschland will build the €20m (£16m) IGS West Frankfurt school in the city district of Höchst. It will house primary and secondary school buildings and accommodate 650 students. The project includes an auditorium, cafeteria and sport facilities, with three sport fields and seats for 200 spectators. The funding of this PPP project is provided by LHI Leasing.

BAM Immobilien-Dienstleistungen GmbH is responsible for facilities management for the school and sports compex for a period of 30 years. Design of the highly energy-efficient project - to Passivhausstandard - is by architect Glück + Partner GmbH in Stuttgart. It is expected that the school will be completed mid 2014.
