Braithwaite Excavations supplements truck fleet

10 Dec 12 Barnsley-based Braithwaite Excavations has taken delivery of three new Volvo A30Fs to supplement and rejuvenate its fleet of articulated haulers.

“With our contracts portfolio expanding we needed to add new haulers to the fleet and opted for the reliability and product support we have enjoyed in the past from Volvo,” said director Andy Braithwaite.

“We are still running A30C models, which have clocked up an impressive 17,000 hours and, apart from one unit which has benefited from a new transmission, they are all running with original engines, transmissions and axles,” he added.

With a carrying capacity of 28 tonnes and heaped capacity of 18.1m³ the Volvo A30F has a maximum speed of 53kph. The trucks supplied to Braithwaite Excavations have the optional cantilever tailgates and side extensions fitted for maximum load retention. The new F-Series trucks are fitted with CareTrack as standard. This is Volvo’s telematics system that enables remote monitoring of a wide range of machine functions (e.g. location, fuel consumption, service reminders etc.) thus optimizing customer operations.

Current projects for Braithwaite Excavations include two divisional headquarters and a new training centre for West Yorkshire Police.
