Davidsons Homes, William Davis Homes and David Wilson Homes are building 574 homes and supporting infrastructure as the first phase of the Thorpebury development, to the northeast of Leicester.

This phase of the development, known as Thorpebury-in-the-Limes, will provide a mix of housing and green spaces for the borough of Charnwood.

A new haul road and temporary bridge have been built to help keep construction traffic out local villages. Earthworks, infrastructure and utilities were put in last year with work starting on housing construction this month. The first homes should be ready for occupation in late summer.

Will Martin, area manager at  developer CEG, said: “Three high quality housing partners have been selected to deliver the first phase. Along with the high-quality landscaping and open space, this will ensure an exemplary and characterful development.”

The 32 ha development is expected to take up to 30 years to build out.
