The new Cat CB10 is a 10-tonne asphalt compactor that can be equipped with a combination of oscillatory and vibratory drums. The design combines Caterpillar’s vertical vibration on the front drum with new oscillation technology on the rear drum.

The front drum with vertical vibration is available in two-amplitude, five-amplitude, or Versa-Vibe systems; this provides the initial compaction. The oscillating rear drum then adds further smoothness and density to the surface.

The oscillatory system uses the pod-style eccentric weight technology developed by Caterpillar. It has a two-year/2,000 hour service interval to limit routine maintenance costs.
