Farrans to build £10m Cambridge community centre

27 Aug 15 The University of Cambridge has appointed Farrans as contractor for the Storey’s Field Centre on the North West Cambridge Development.

The £10m Storey’s Field Centre will be the local community centre for residents of the development. The building has been designed by McInnes Usher McKnight Architects (MUMA).  It will have a multi-use hall to hold up to 180 people, a medium-size space that will hold up to 50 people and a smaller room for up to 20 people.  There will also be a nursery within the centre

The Storey’s Field Centre will be built in the new local centre of the development and overlooks Storey’s Field, the new open green space in the middle of the site.

Gavin Heaphy, construction director of the North West Cambridge Development, said: “Farrans has a clear understanding of our ambitions for the building to be of the highest quality in terms of build, architecture and sustainability. We know it will be used by many in Cambridge and we will be creating a new building that the community can be proud of.”
