Ferrovial clinches €82m of Polish contracts

21 Jul 11 Budimex, Ferrovial Agroman's subsidiary in Poland, has won contracts for a €42m (£37m) museum in Katowice and a €40m (£35m) hospital in Wroclaw.

Construction of the new  Silesian  Museum  building  is expected to take 21 months. The   building   will  include an   exhibition   area   over   three   storeys,   two   underground  and  one  above  ground,  with  glass-lined  shafts  to  channel  sunlight  to  the   underground areas. There will also be offices and a conference area over three underground storeys and  four above ground; and a three-storey underground car park.    

Budimex has also signed the contract to build a new regional hospital in Wroclaw, including development of the surrounding area and construction of a  heliport.    

In the first quarter of 2011, Budimex obtained revenues in Poland of €180.8m from construction activities - a 66% increase compared with the same period last year.
