Enabling the design and construction of residential and commercial buildings with material sustainability and advanced structural performance, Finnforest’s products and systems are presented to the market against the backdrop of changing legislation, carbon driven specification and cost conscious construction programming.
Finnforest will feature a broad range of its systems on an impressive 10m x 7.5m stand. Encompassing part of the stand is a double curved Leno CLT (cross laminated timber) wall panel. An upper storey will be constructed using Kerto Ripa, Finnforest’s wide span solution for both floors and roofs. This will be accessed via a Kerto staircase. Beneath the upper level visitors will be able to view the commercially successful Low-E wall solution, currently being utilised by leading retail brands in new store build. Finally exemplar engineered timber schemes will be projected onto a big screen.
The Finnjoist, a fully engineered timber i-joist, forms the main component of systems such as Low Energy Walls and Roofs which are being specified in large commercial, retail and house build programmes. Alongside these, The SoundBar System for acoustic flooring also helps specifiers and developers meet and even exceed the requirements of both Part L and Part E.
Further systems to ease the construction of larger structures, such as school buildings and even agricultural applications and warehousing, are also available. For example the Kerto Ripa System enables the creation of wider clear spans, up to 18m, in less time.
By utilising its engineered timber products and systems - Kerto, Finnjoist (FJI), Glulam, Thermowood, Kerto-Ripa, The SoundBar System, Finnframe, Leno (CLT) and Low Energy walls and roofs - Finnforest constantly invests in developing system solutions to help specifiers design buildings that exceed legislative requirements, achieve higher Code and BREEAM ratings and fulfil the aesthetic aspirations of the end client.
By drawing on the expertise of its engineering partner, Finnforest Merk, Finnforest is able to provide the technical knowledge and support required to help achieve even the most demanding architectural specifications in sustainable timber.
Kevin Riley, Vice President, Construction Industry, Finnforest UK, said: “We recognise Ecobuild as the UK construction industry’s premier event. It provides an important platform from which to introduce specifiers, housebuilders, contractors and their end clients to the possibilities of designing and constructing with timber solutions for projects that are underpinned by strong environmental principles.”
