HM changes name to Hitachi

1 May 14 Excavator dealer HM Plant has changed its name to Hitachi Construction Machinery (UK) Ltd as part of a rebranding.

HM Plant was acquired by Hitachi Construction Machinery Europe seven years ago, but had continued to operate under the HM Plant name. Hitachi decided now was the time to leverage its own brand. The name change takes effect form today, 1st May 2014.

CEO John Jones said; “It’s an exciting time for us, and follows on from another excellent year of trading, which has seen us grow our year-on-year turnover by over 30%. The move to change name at this juncture makes perfect sense, as we look to make a big impression in the quarry and mining sector, as well as further grow our market share in the UK as a whole over the next three years.”

“Our success to date has been built upon supplying reliable, highly productive Hitachi excavators, with excellent residual value, along with unrivalled support and customer service, and this will continue to be the case under our new name.”

Hitachi Construction Machinery (UK) will continue to supply the complete range of Hitachi construction machinery, including mini, medium, large and wheeled excavators, wheel loaders and dump trucks. It will offer parts, servicing and support from its 11 depots in the UK and appointed sub-dealers in Ireland.

The rebranding is also likely to impact upon the appearance of motorcycle racing...
