Kier rolls out repairs app

15 Aug 12 Following the launch of its smartphone application earlier this year in Harlow, Kier has rolled out its Kier Repairs app to tenants and leaseholders in Sheffield and Gosport.

The free app enables tenants and leaseholders, who are eligible for Kier’s repairs and maintenance services on their home, to report repairs directly using their smartphone. Kier claims to be the only contractor to offer its customers this service.

In Gosport, the app will enable the 3,186 Gosport tenants eligible for Kier’s repairs and maintenance services to report repairs directly using their smartphone. Nearly half of all adults in the UK are now estimated to use a smartphone. The Kier Repairs app provides eligible Kier customers with more choice in how to report responsive repairs.

The app includes a camera function, which allows customers to take a picture of the issue they are reporting. This can save the call centre time in diagnosing the repair and, on some occasions, means that solutions can be offered over the phone. It can also help with language barriers.

Kier is now looking to roll out the service nationwide.
