Work on Moore Place Care Home is expected to take 60 weeks, with completion in July 2014.

The design and build scheme for Anchor Trust and Moore Place Holdings LLP is a 60-bedroom care home over five floors, including a lower ground floor and accommodation in the roof space.  The project includes landscaping and car parking for the care home and neighbouring golf course.

Longcross will need to undertake significant civils activity to accommodate the lower ground floor and new site levels. Each floor will be formed through the use of pre-cast concrete planks, which will be installed over a series of phases as the superstructure progresses.

The lower ground floor, which will act as a basement, will have a high-spec tanking system.  The roof will be formed through the use of dorma windows supported by a traditional truss roof, with cranked steel supports.

Internally, finishes have been specified in line with the requirements of the end user, Anchor Care Trust. The trust has recently upgraded its M&E systems and these will be introduced to the Moore Place scheme.

Longcross senior project manager Sunil Johal commented: “This is our first care home project and is another example of how our fresh approach to design and build are opening up new markets.  The project, which includes final fit-out to a high-end specification, is also a great opportunity to extend our supply chain in this specific sector. This is an exciting opportunity for both the project team and the business as a whole.”
