Longworth has already been involved with more than 7,000 solar installations on public sector and commercial properties. It expects that having Redsky as a dedicated solar arm will help to grow this area of the business.
Managing director Paul Smith said: “The growth in the renewables sector and the increasing drive towards sustainable construction made strengthening our solar offer a natural step for Longworth.
“Solar panels can be fitted to new or existing roofs to save money on energy bills and reduce carbon emissions. Our engineers bring together expertise in roofing and solar, so Redsky Solar clients have the added benefit of knowing that installation will not damage the structure of their existing roof or compromise roofing guarantees.”
He added: “Clients have already told us that being able to use installers from one of the UK’s leading roofing experts has given them the confidence to embrace solar power, and we are proud to be able to help businesses, schools and hospitals around the country discover the benefits of cleaner, greener energy.”
