AGD operates one of the UK’s largest fleets of crawler cranes and is planning to add two Marchetti telescopic boom crawler cranes to its rental fleet next year.
AGD has for many years been the distributor for IHI, a Japanese manufacturer of crawler cranes. IHI supplies AGD with lattice boom crawler cranes and mini cranes up to 5t capacity, based on mini excavator bodies, but AGD has until now had no larger sized telescopic boom crawler crane – an increasingly popular concept - to compete with the likes of NRC Plant (Hitachi-Sumitomo/Link-Belt distributor) and EH Hassell (Sennebogen distributor).
AGD has ordered two units of the Marchetti Sherpa CW70.42, a 70t rated telescopic crawler crane with 42m of boom and suitable for all applications including piling.
Marchetti is better known for its truck-mounted and all terrain cranes. However, AGD is not expected to be moving into wheeled mobile crane rental.
IHI also distributes RTG leader rigs, Giken silent pilers, Mait foundation equipment, CZM piling equipment, Fambo hydraulic piling hammers and leaders, THW piling equipment and IHC Vermeer MT mini piling equipment.
