Morgan Sindall wins £14.6m Berkshire office job

3 Nov 11 Morgan Sindall has secured a £14.6 million contract to build a nine storey office development in Maidenhead, Berkshire.

Aegon UK Property Fund is the client for the 86,000 square feet of commercial office space.

Work will involve building a steel frame with complete glass panelling and two undercroft car parks.

The new office building will feature highly sustainable heating and cooling systems and is designed to achieve a BREEAM rating of ‘very good’.

Morgan Sindall will work alongside architects Darling Associates, structural engineers Upton McGougan and employer’s agents Rider Levett Bucknall.

Work is due for completion in May 2013.

Paul Downing, commercial manager for Morgan Sindall, says: “The Market Street area of Maidenhead town centre is seeing something of a regeneration and is fast becoming an important commercial quarter in the town. It’s a positive sign that companies like Aegon UK Property Fund are investing in the city and creating additional office space. The new development really will be a standout building on Market Street and symbolise the direction the town is going in.

“We have extensive experience working in busy urban locations on commercial projects and this is a good fit for the skill sets we offer.”
