The six-storey library will have more than 16,000m2 of floor area, including a gallery space.
The project is scheduled for completion in September 2016.
Mike Darlington, managing director for NG Bailey’s engineering division, said: “We carried out all the building modelling and as a result, were able to understand, influence and control the design parameters, helping to provide a more intelligent building.”
