Polystorm Xtra cells were initially specified for the main route into the site due to its superior loading capabilities. Polypipe WMS value engineered the original attenuation specification to eliminate the need for two separate pipe runs adjacent to the structure, minimising installation time on-site and reducing the need for additional excavation. Polypipe WMS worked closely with Roudens Builders Merchant to ensure ongoing product supply to site.
Having provided speed of installation and performance benefits on the initial phase of the project, the Polystorm Xtra cells were again used to cope with the ground pressures caused by the continual movement of traffic throughout the site at peak times of the day. Four separate attenuation structures were required on-site, using 4799 Polystorm Xtra cells in total. These were installed under three car parks and a landscaped area.
Different options were considered for the attenuation structures, but it was Polystorm Xtra that ultimately offered piece of mind to the site installation and engineering teams.

Polystorm Xtra is the latest modular cell development by Polypipe WMS in addition to its Polystorm and Polystorm Lite products. Designed to meet heavy loading or shallow installation requirements, Polystorm Xtra offers a maximum load bearing capability of 80 tonnes. It can be used as a standalone solution for use in heavily trafficked areas, or as part of a hybrid installation alongside Polystorm or Polystorm Lite cells.
