Cost of the Blankenburg toll tunnel is estimated at €1.2bn (£1bn) according to the ministry. The plan published yesterday also include a €990m road to link the A13 with the A16 and improve connections to the airport.
The tunnel will provide a new river crossing, which is needed to improve access to the port and to relieve the existing tunnel. She also announced the route that has been chosen from three that were considered, saying that the one that has been chosen best solves the traffic problems as well as being some €800m cheaper.
