Seddon plans £100m Oldham development

1 Aug 13 Plans for a £100m development in Oldham that includes a new business park and 500 new homes have been submitted by Foxdenton, a joint venture between builders Seddon and local developer Grasscroft.

The development covers a 49ha site at Chadderton, 2km west of Oldham town centre, that has been earmarked for development by Oldham Council.

Foxdenton said that the construction phase would provide 165 construction jobs.

Michael Coulter of Foxdenton said: “These plans will create a sustainable and thriving community with significant benefits to the local economy through new employment opportunities and high-quality new housing which will both meet the needs of existing residents and attract new people to the area.”

Mike Rooney, partner at WHR Property Consultants and joint agent on the scheme, added: “The site is superbly located at Junction 21 of the M60 motorway and close to Junction 20 of the M62.  We are confident that with its excellent transport links and position at the heart of the Greater Manchester conurbation, the business park will appeal to a wide range of local, regional and national occupiers.”
