Troubleshooter to stand in at CITB

23 May 13 The Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) has called on a travel and hospitality executive to act as interim chief executive in the wake of Mark Farrar’s departure.

William Burton, who joins the CITB on 28 May, is an experienced interim leader. His most recent positions include CEO roles for Page & Moy Travel Group and the Travel Acquisition Company. He has also acted as chief operating officer for government agencies such as the British Library and The Rural Payments Agency. In his earlier career, he had sales and marketing roles at British Airways, Thomson Holidays and Thistle Hotels.

The process for appointing a permanent CEO is under way, CITB said.

Last month chief executive Mark Farrar announced his desire to leave the organisation after seven years in charge.
