UBC roofing subsidiary rescued from administration

23 May 12 One of the subsidiary companies of the failed UBC Group has been bought out of administration by its management.

Wyvis Roofing has been bought by the management team, led by Ian and Willie Sharp, saving 30 jobs in the Inverness and Highland regions.

Some 240 jobs have been lost elsewhere in the group, however.

Administrators from corporate advisory and restructuring specialists Zolfo Cooper were appointed to take over Wyvis Roofing along with the other companies within the UBC group on 8 May 2012. Other companies in the group - UBC, Wyvis Building Services and Mardon Project Services – have been wound up.

Wyvis Roofing managing director Willie Sharp said: “We are of course delighted that Wyvis Roofing can continue with business as usual and the entire team are now all 100% focussed on taking the business forward as a standalone entity.”
