Wates Living Space shortlists 30 suppliers

30 Aug 12 Thirty small businesses from Wolverhampton have been shortlisted by Wates Living Space to support its housing projects in the Black Country.

Following a Meet the Buyer event, more than 100 local contractors were invited to become part of Wates Living Space’s supply chain and tender for opportunities to work on housing construction and refurbishment contracts in the area.

Companies including plumbers, engineers, electricians, window suppliers and photovoltaic panel providers were interviewed for the chance to be part of the affordable housing contractor’s West Midlands supply chain.

A shortlist of 30 will now take part in a workshop with Wates, which will take the form of a question and answer session and a training seminar covering the tendering process and service standards.

Wates Living Space regional managing director Steve Jackson commented: “It is always our aim to use our role in construction projects to benefit local trades and workforce. Enhancing our supply chain in Wolverhampton and throughout the Black Country is an important part of this and allows us to identify strong local partners and deliver quality homes for our clients.”
