1133 – AVON AND SOMERSET POLICE – WASTE MANAGEMENT SERVICESTHIS NOTICE IS FOR PRIOR INFORMATION ONLY FOR THE PURPOSES OF IDENTIFYING SUPPLIERS TO TAKE PART IN EARLY MARKET ENGAGEMENT AND IS NOT A CALL FOR COMPETITION.Avon and Somerset Police have a number of waste management service contracts which are due to expire in October 2025. Avon and Somerset Police are currently undertaking early market engagement and considering various route to market options in order to run a successful procurement process for their waste management services requirements. Avon & Somerset Police wish to invite potential suppliers who may be interested in assisting with this early market engagement to answer a number of questions and then, an opportunity to meet with SWPPS and Avon & Somerset Police (via Teams) to discuss their responses.The four waste streams included within the waste management services are:• Residual and Recycling • IT Disposal• Metal Waste• Confidential (Protectively Marked) Waste The market engagement will help to inform the most appropriate route to market for each waste stream and in turn will determine if the different waste streams are tendered as separate lots under one tendering process or subject to individual tendering processes. Residual and Recycling The requirements include, but are not limited to: general waste, non-confidential paper (including pre-shredded protectively marked paper), tins, cans, plastic, glass, cardboard, newspaper/magazines.IT DisposalDisposal includes, but is not limited to, laptops, Base units, Monitors, Desktop Printer, Hard Drives, Cables & Peripherals (including mics, keyboards and portable storage) and mobile phones.Metal WasteThe collections include, but are not limited to, copper, lead, brass, aluminium, steel, bicycles, engines, furniture, filing cabinets, sharp edged weapons and weapons which shall be rendered harmless by the Customer and miscellaneous metal waste.Confidential (Protectively Market) Waste The services include the removal and off-site shredding service for protectively marked waste paper, multimedia and uniform/clothing. Protectively marked confidential waste includes but is not limited to – paper passed waste, audio and video tapes, clothing, uniform, badges, floppy disks, CDs, DVDs, tape cassettes etc.The purpose of the Prior Information Notice (PIN) is for early engagement with the market prior to undertaking a formal tender process. We will be seeking input from the supply market to inform our requirements, to help formulate our specification for the services and help identify routes to market. If you are interested in supporting Avon and Somerset Police with this engagement, please respond to this PIN, advising which waste streams you would be interested in, and we will be in touch with a number of questions and details to set up a meeting (via teams) to discuss your responses if required.Avon and Somerset Police are committed to ensuring fairness, openness and transparency, and to follow the Public Contract Regulations 2015.
