II.1.4) Short description
Blackpool Council is looking to appoint a single supplier to carry out testing of electrical equipment – portable and fixed appliances.
Blackpool Council wish to appoint a Contractor who can clearly demonstrate the ability to meet our requirements and who offers the most economically advantageous bid.
Please note that the qualifications deemed satisfactory for engineers employed on this contract will be qualified electricians who hold C&G 18th Edition and also hold City and Guilds 2377-22 or equivalent.

II.2.4) Description of the procurement
It shall be the duty of the successful Contractor to carry out the testing of all portable and fixed appliances, as defined in this Specification. This will include:
Testing the portable and fixed appliances to protect the value of Blackpool Borough Council’s (BC) assets.
Maintaining a working environment for the building users and tenants that fulfils BC’s obligations as defined in the lease(s).
Making adequate arrangements for the Health and Safety of persons in or around the buildings and to fulfil all safety requirements particularly in regard to the Health & Safety at Work etc. Act. 1974.
Scope of Works/Services
The scope of work comprises the following:-
(a) Testing of all portable appliances every year to include plug in sockets on desks.
(b) Testing of fixed appliances at an interval to be agreed with Blackpool Council
(c) Visually inspect & thermal image equipment in server rooms as per COP 5th edition
(d) Replacing incorrect rating fuses
(e) Replacing damaged 13A plugs
(f) Remaking connections to plugs where necessary.
It is anticipated that the term of the contract will be from 1st February 2025 to 31st January 2027 with the option to extend for a futher 12 plus 12 months.
