Description
Campus Infrastructure (CI), which manages and maintains the University of Bath’s estate, aims to establish a Minor Works Contractors Framework to support both the Long-Term Maintenance (LTM) and Accommodation teams in delivering small- to medium‐scale projects.
The framework will cover construction works valued up to £500k including VAT, including laboratory refurbishments, study and office space fitouts, roofing and general planned maintenance works, as well as accommodation refurbishments.
The University operates across three key locations: Claverton Campus, the city of Bath, and the Bath & Bristol Science Park (BBSP). Most works procured through this framework will take place on the Claverton Campus, with additional accommodation refurbishment projects delivered within the city.
Please note the University of Bath is not a ‘contracting authority’ for the purposes of the UK Procurement Act 2023. Where the University advertises contracts via the UK e-notification service Find a Tender, it does so on a voluntary basis and does not undertake any obligation to comply with the procurement legislation.

Framework operation description
Call-Off Contracts may be awarded by direct award or mini-competition.
The University may choose to award a contract to a single Appointed Supplier without extending an invitation to other suppliers on the framework for one of the following reasons:
- The existing framework rates for that supplier would deliver the best value for money, or where that supplier confirms they are unable to deliver then the second ranked supplier for value for money and so on; or
- The contract is subject to extreme unforeseen urgency not the fault of the University; or
- The contract is for an extension or subsequent phase of a project for which the supplier is already appointed and is able to provide continuity of service; or
- The contract is linked to previous works carried out by the supplier, and the supplier will be able to therefore apply a reduced mobilisation or lead in time to deliver the project.
