Dundee Heritage Trust is seeking an experienced capital Project Manager to lead a programme of work at Discovery Point as part of its major museum transformation project.
The Project Manager will oversee all aspects of project management relating to capital works to the building and exhibitions fit-out, including timetable, budgets, contracts, and procurement.

II.2.4) Description of the procurement
SCOPE OF SERVICES:
1. Produce tender documentation for the detailed scope of the capital works below and manage the tender process via Public Contract Scotland. Review tenders received and score them alongside the Trust's staff, making appropriate recommendations.
2. The capital works included in the Discovery Point Transformed project include:
a) Capital: design and works
- Insulation of the first floor ceilings and nib walls
- Works to the first floor to create a new flexible events & conferences space overlooking the River Tay, new learning space, staff/office spaces, and toilets including a new Changing Places Toilet facility
- Works to the ground floor to create a new 360° AV theatre space and new meeting room
b) Exhibitions: design and fitout
- Two new permanent exhibitions
- A new 360° AV theatre exhibition space (per above)
- Improvements to the wider permanent exhibitions and interpretation aboard ship
The anticipated budget for the above works is 4,345,603 GBP including design fees, excluding VAT. A contingency budget of 10% has also been allowed.
***Please note that a separate strand of works outwith the building, relating to conservation of the Royal Research Ship Discovery, is NOT included in the purview of this post.***
3. Manage the Capital and Exhibitions contracts and relevant smaller contracts. Ensure the contractors follow the brief, use the appropriate methodology and materials specified, undertake quality work, keep good photographic and written records of work undertaken, and keep to timetable and budget.
4. Liaise with other contractors as part of the wider Discovery Point Transformed project, including the ship works Main Contractor and its distinct ship Project Manager to ensure the site runs smoothly.
5. Design and manage all contract processes to ensure approvals are sought in due course, the change control process is tightly managed, and the project is managed to timetable and budget.
6. Provide the Trust with regular updates, providing the information required for reporting to its Board of Trustees and external funding partners.
7. Work with the Trust's team to update the Management and Maintenance Plans for the building, taking account of work undertaken, and any subsequent changes required.
