More power to your forklift

B&B Attachments, based in Cramlington in Northumberland, makes attachments for handling everything from brick & block to beer barrels.

B&B Attachments are primarily designed for forklift trucks, to increase the versatility of this ubiquitous factory runabout.

One of its products is a mesh grab (pictured above), for handling sheets of reinforcing steel mesh. It lowers the danger of material damage and allows the safe handling of one or more mesh bundles.

The mesh grab attachment consists of four pincers that slot between the apertures, allowing the operator to handle bundles of the steel mesh in one single lift. Each pincer is powered by a hydraulic cylinder. It is designed as fork mounted, which means it can be fitted or removed from a forklift truck in a matter of seconds.

Another tool from B&B Attachments  is its pipe clamp handler (pictured above and below), which has a dual clamping mechanism activated by hydraulic cylinders. The large rubber grippers prevent slippage and damage to the concrete. The clamp is adaptable, with several different designs available to cater for different pipe depths and wall thicknesses. This attachment can be fork or jib mounted to any appropriate forklift or telehandler, and can rotate either partially or up to 360 degrees.

One customer of B&B’s pipe clamp handler is Maddington Concrete, based in Maddington, Western Australia. Director Remo Caruso testifies: “The pipe clamp attachment has quickly become essential to our operations.  It ensures a safe, fast lifting operation and avoids damage to the concrete. The team is very happy with its strong construction and ease of use. The attachment has significantly increased productivity on site.”
