Flying through Crossrail's completed rail tunnels
Crossrail tunnelling began in the summer of 2012 and ended in June 2015 with the breakthrough at Farringdon of tunnelling machine Victoria. Eight 1,000-tonne tunnel boring machines have drilled 42km of new 6.2-metre diameter rail tunnels under London.
