Laying the Foundations for HS2's Old Oak Common High Speed Railway Station
HS2 are laying the foundations for Old Oak Common Station in West London. In the last few months, the team have been piling, removing earth and completing the diaphragm wall. In total, there will 161 piles for the whole box of Old Oak Common and 275 D-wall panels, which spans 1.8 kilometers.
Once the excavation phase is complete, the team will fill the area with concrete. Once all of the D-wall has been completed and the ground gets excavated, there'll be a long continuous wall of concrete, which is the D-wall.
