Animated reconstruction of Genoa's Polcevera viaduct
The bridge over the Polcevera River in Genoa, Italy, collapsed in August 2018, killing 43 people.
The replacement structure, designed by Renzo Piano, is being built by Salini Impregilo and Fincantieri Infrastructure.
The last of the 18 support piers was completed in February 2020 and deck construction is nearing completion.
Salini Impregilo has produced this compute-generated animation of the construction process.
