We actively promote the use of rail transport as a more environmentally friendly method of moving goods and react quickly to adopt any new innovations that result in lower emissions from our fleet of vehicles. We have put in place a policy, which encourages all at Russell to monitor and minimise the level of wastage throughout the organisation.

Rail

With rail freight transportation giving environmental benefits and payload advantages, many manufacturers and retailers are keen to develop their use of rail for the movement of freight throughout the UK. Russell promotes and encourages, where viable and sustainable, the transfer of freight from road to rail and is committed to supporting the use of rail in the future.

Russell operate 5 rail linked depots throughout the UK offering a choice of mode for freight movement in the UK. Rail cannot operate in isolation from other transport modes and as such all Russell rail linked depots are road connected with a distribution fleet on site enabling smooth transfer of goods for onward delivery.

Road:Russell has a comprehensive depot network in Scotland and throughout the UK enabling us to service our customers JIT requirements. We operate a road fleet comprising 180 vehicles, 500 trailers and over 1,000 containers. The flexibility of our core fleet allows us to delivery less than pallet quantities to full load deliveries.

With nightly trunking services to the North East of England from our Glasgow depot and daily deliveries throughout Scotland and the UK, Russell is well placed to offer flexibility and choice what ever your primary transport requirements may be.

We work in partnership with a number of regional operators to supplement Russell's own fleet, each are carefully selected and operate to Russell standards of service.

International:Russell International is the shipping, forwarding and foreign distribution division of the Russell Company. Working in partnership with a number of world side service providers enables Russell to offer European, International and Worldwide coverage as required.

International services include:
