From our flagship quarry close to Ancaster, near Grantham, we extract the reputable Ancaster Stone, a trusted building material since it's discovery by the Romans around 1800 years ago. Ancaster was an important fortress town located on Ermine Street, the main Roman route between London and Carlisle. This undoubtedly helped to broaden the stone's appeal and explains why this much sought after honey/beige limestone is evident in countless country houses, churches and monuments in towns and cities throughout the UK.
