The launch of the GH series marked a significant milestone for Ifor Williams Trailers. Designed specifically for transporting plant machinery, GH trailers were developed through close collaboration with plant operators and hire professionals. The result was a purpose-built range offering exceptional payload capacity, low loading angles, welded tub construction, and outstanding durability.

The GH range quickly became a trusted solution across construction and plant hire sectors, valued for its ease of use, stability, and long-term reliability. Designed to handle the demands of daily site work, GH trailers provide confidence when transporting excavators, dumpers, rollers, and other heavy machinery.

As machinery continued to increase in size and width, Ifor Williams responded with the introduction of the GH6 series, which retains the proven strengths of the GH platform while offering increased width and capacity. This allows operators to transport larger equipment without compromising safety, performance, or towing stability.

Enhanced Ease of Operation with DIGADOC®

The ease of loading and transporting machinery is further enhanced by DIGADOC®, an award-winning system exclusively available as an option on the GH plant trailer range. Designed for compact tracked machinery, DIGADOC® provides a controlled, repeatable method of positioning and securing machines without the need for traditional tie-down straps.

By guiding machinery into a predetermined position on the trailer, DIGADOC® ensures correct weight distribution and towing stability from the moment the machine is loaded. Purpose-designed guide shoes provide accurate alignment, while front stops and a rear blade stop prevent movement during transport, protecting both the trailer and the equipment.

DIGADOC® is particularly well suited to hire fleets and professional operators, where consistent loading, reduced manual handling, and safer working practices are essential. The system accommodates machinery up to 2.7 tonnes (subject to trailer gross vehicle weight) and is simple to operate, even for users with limited experience.

Available in fixed or adjustable configurations, DIGADOC® can be tailored to dedicated machines or a range of equipment, offering flexibility for hire companies or multi-plant operators. Built from heavy-duty galvanised steel, it meets the same robust standards as the rest of the GH range, ensuring durability and long-term performance.
