Job Description
Palace Cleaner - Part-Time
Part-time positions available - £9.00 per hour / 20 hours per week, mainly evening 4pm-8pm
We have an opportunity for cleaners to join the Blenheim Palace Operations Team. The cleaning team play a vital role at Blenheim and are responsible for maintaining exceptional standards of cleanliness within the Palace buildings and grounds.
Reporting to our Deputy Collections Manager and Keeper of Palace and Collections you will be part of the dedicated team who clean and maintain the areas within Palace complex and visitor areas, including function rooms and areas which include collections of art and artefacts.
Responsibilities:
- Maintaining the highest standards of customer service and care.
- Following safety policies and procedures at all time, especially when using cleaning chemicals, reporting incidents, COSHH.
- Clear communication via radio.
- To be fully aware of customer and client confidentiality.
- Maintaining consistently high standards of neatness, accuracy and thoroughness of all work assigned.
- Reporting any incidences, items that may have been moved or concerns.
- Additional jobs might be required by the Deputy Collections Manager and Keeper of Palace and Collections such as room turn around, moving furniture or object handling.
- Reporting any maintenance issues to the Deputy Collections Manager and Keeper of Palace and Collections.
About you:
Our ideal candidate will be a strong team player with a strong work ethic. Experience of working within a heritage and conservation environment is not essential as training will be provided.
You will also need to be:
- Ability to manage time effectively to complete tasks to a high level.
- Ability to prioritise work.
- Able to work with minimum supervision.
- Flexible, able to support the team at short notice.
- Ability to work within a team.
- Ability to read and follow instructions on cleaning materials and H&S.
- Able to keep simple records.
- Reliable with excellent time keeping.
- Enthusiasm and ability to use initiative.
