Job Description
PTS Bricklayer - Transpennine Route Upgrade
Location: Various sites across the Transpennine Route (Manchester - Leeds - York)
Start Date: ASAP
About the Role:
We are currently recruiting experienced PTS Bricklayers to join our team working on the Transpennine Route Upgrade (TRU) - a major rail infrastructure project aimed at delivering faster, greener, and more reliable rail services across the North of England.
This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a high-profile, long-term project with consistent work and career progression potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out all aspects of bricklaying and blockwork to a high standard
- Work on station upgrades, retaining walls, platform works, and associated railway structures
- Interpret and work from technical drawings and specifications
- Ensure all work complies with relevant health and safety regulations
- Collaborate effectively with site teams and supervisors
Requirements:
- Valid PTS (Personal Track Safety) card
- MUST HAVE OLEC1
- NVQ Level 2 (or higher) in Bricklaying or equivalent experience
- Proven experience working on railway infrastructure projects
- CSCS card
- Own tools and PPE
- Strong understanding of safety protocols on Network Rail sites
- Flexibility to work day/night shifts and weekends as required
Desirable:
- Additional rail competencies (e.g., PASMA, IPAF, COSS, First Aid)
- Experience on other major rail schemes
