Aecom team lands Monaco hospital

26 Apr 13 An Aecom-led consortium has won a US$85m (£55m) contract for the new Princess Grace hospital in Monaco.

Aecom’s fees for the project are expected to be approximately US$18m (£11.6m).

Aecom will act as consortium lead and programme manager for the 400-room hospital. The consortium was selected after being one of three groups invited to participate in a design competition.

In addition to Aecom, the consortium includes architects AIA Associes and Natacha Morin Innocenti, AIA Ingénierie for heating, ventilation and air-conditioning design and sustainability, and Tractebel Engineering for foundations and structural design.

Design work for the new hospital is expected to begin in July and last for two years, followed by a 10-year construction period reflecting the highly constrained site and the need to minimise impact on the existing hospital.
