The E-Gate redevelopment project is on a brownfield site in the city. It will link together developments already under way or planned at North Melbourne Station, the Arden-Macaulay urban renewal precinct and the Docklands area.
Arup will provide sustainable energy, water, waste, information and communication infrastructure, and civil structures services to the project.
“E-Gate is an outstanding opportunity to showcase how smart infrastructure can be delivered in a practical and commercially replicable framework,” said Arup project director and Melbourne planning leader Jonathan Kinghorn. “With significant site constraints such as existing topography and poor ground conditions, coupled with working within and adjacent to live rail, our specialists will develop concept options for bridges and decking for various architectural forms and functions.”
Arup, in association with Prendergast Projects will also work with stakeholders to develop commercial delivery models for sustainable technologies.
