Celebrations as Mansell refurbishes 2000th council home in Solihull

5 Oct 10 A new milestone has been reached in a £25 million house improvement programme in Solihull as Mansell celebrates completing work on the 2000th property.

To mark the milestone resident Russell Williams, an avid ice hockey fan, received a surprise visit from Solihull Barons captain Rob Eley, and top scorer Rich Slater who presented Russell with a signed team shirt.

Mansell is carrying out refurbishment and Decent Homes work on the local authority housing stock on behalf of Solihull Community Housing.

Russell said he was delighted with the work carried out by Mansell commenting, “the builders worked quickly and efficiently and I am very pleased with the results”.

Mike Bethell of Solihull Community Housing (SCH) said, “SCH is delighted to have reached this milestone with Mansell. It is great to see that the residents are thrilled with improvements to their homes”. 

Mansell’s Divisional Manager for Partnership Housing, Simon Liversage said, “This is a great landmark to reach within our programme of works and is evidence of the strong relationship we have built with Solihull Community Housing. We are pleased to see that the improvements have had such a positive effect on residents’ lives.”

Solihull Community Housing is Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council’s arms length management organisation which looks after the council’s housing service and is responsible for day-to-day management, including repairs, rent collection, resident participation and housing advice.
