The project, referred to as PPNNCC, will be delivered in joint venture with Al Latifia Trading & Contracting. HLG will be operating as Leighton Middle East Contracting,
PPNNCC is in the centre of Riyadh and involves the construction of new medical centres on the current King Fahad Medical City campus to integrate with existing medical facilities.
HLG CEO and managing director Laurie Voyer said the new project further reinforced the success of HLG’s strategy to expand into new geographic markets. “This project is in line with our growth strategy to diversify our geographic footprint, and we look forward to working with our JV partner, Al Latifia Trading & Contracting, to successfully deliver this prestigious development for our client,” he said. “Saudi Arabia is our largest growth market, and this project underlines our ability to secure work there,” he said.
The Group’s scope of works consists of the development of facilities including the 11-storey National Neurosciences Institute, a cancer centre – also 11 storeys – and a cardiac centre as well as laboratories, offices and parking.
Additionally, the 234,000m2 project involves the construction of a central services building spanning four levels, and a services tunnel approximately 320m in length.
Work will start later this year, with the project to be delivered in stages over the next three years.
