Area 8

Contract value is estimated at between £32m and £42m over the five year term, which starts on 30 April 2013.

The roads covered by the contract are: M1, M11, A1, A1(M), A5, A11, A414, A421 and A428 in Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire,  Cambridgeshire and Milton Keynes.

The successful contractor will be required to provide integrated network management, maintenance, improvement activities, incident management, event management and contingency planning.

Nationally, the new style asset support contracts ( ASCs) are replacing the existing managing agent contractor (MAC) contracts, and will form the basis of the delivery of maintenance and improvement services for most of England’s motorway and trunk road network. The first ASC was awarded to Atkins Skanska JV  in February 2012, covering the southwest, excluding Cornwall and parts of Devon.
