New Glasgow depot for Nationwide

Nationwide Platforms, the UK’s largest access rental company, has opened a new depot in Bellshill, Scotland.

Three times the size of its previous depot, the new facility is on the Righead Industrial Estate just outside of Glasgow. The 2,700 m2 depot houses more than 450 access platforms including truck and van mounted platforms. Four delivery vehicles and service vans also operate from the depot.

Nationwide Platforms regional director Frank Sprott said: “We not only wanted a flagship site with office space for our growing team, but also a building that could allow us to meet our customers’ needs. It was also important to expand our engineering facilities and our workshop gives our team great scope for the future. We are proud to showcase our facility and today’s open day will be the first of many to allow our customers to meet the team, see our latest kit and innovations as well as witness first-hand the standards we work to.”

Managing director Jeremy Fish added: “The opening of this new depot highlights our continued investment in Scotland and the northeast. It is an important region for us and one we are looking to strengthen. This depot will put us in a good position and has the capacity to match our growth, both in terms of fleet and training.”

Nationwide Platforms has four depots in Scotland and a purpose-built training centre near Aberdeen.
