Replacing Sika’s T53 adhesive product, SikaBond AT-Universal contains absolutely no solvents thanks to the use of Sika’s new i-cure technology, which helps dramatically reduce product emissions, providing a higher level of protection for both the user and the environment.
AT Universal is one of Sika’s most universal elastic adhesives and is suitable for use with almost all substrates, with minimal surface preparation required. As part of Sika’s Advance Technology (AT) range, AT-Universal combines the best properties of Sika’s successful Polyurethane (PU) technology and the fast-growing Modified Silicone (MS) technology to form a new hybrid polymer that ensures good initial tack, high elasticy, ease of extrusion whilst being odourless and low in emissions.

The advantages of AT-Universal’s clever technology mean the product has very good weathering and water resistance making it suitable to use both internally and externally. Similarly, its non corrosive nature means it can be used on both porous and non-porous substrates including wood, concrete, metal, PVC, ceramics and roof tiles, to name just a few. Available in both cartridges and sausages, the product lends itself to many trades.
Jayne Hasoon, Product Manager for Sika, commented: “We have chosen to replace T53 with AT-Universal due to its considerable benefits which allow fast product curing with incredibly low emissions. Supplied as a one part, ready to use elastic adhesive that can be used on many substrates, AT-Universal is the perfect replacement on many counts and has the added benefit of being completely solvent free too.”
