The University has recently been awarded Capital funding from the Office for Students and wants to purchase one water jet cutting machine with control software. This equipment will be housed in the Stephenson building workshop within the School of Engineering, Faculty of Science, Agriculture and Engineering. The objectives of the equipment are summarized as follows:
• To manufacture components that will support teaching.
• To allow students to produce their own components under the supervision of the School technicians needed for their stage 3 and 4 projects.
• To allow users in the Makerspace area to also manufacture components.
• Having this machine is hoped to be used by students across the different Faculties at the University.

The University will incorporate a standstill period at the point information on the award of the contract is communicated to tenderers.
