II.1.4) Short description
The project is for the provision of the full refurbishment and fitout of the Strand Arts Centre, Holywood Road, Belfast, to ensure modern building standards can be achieved and that the cinema is fit for purpose to meet current demand for workshops and live performances.
The project will focus on restoring the building to a suitable standard and increasing levels of accessibility, to include:
• Structural repair works.
• Redevelopment of entrance to ensure all screens can be accessed from the same level and the space can be utilised for other services including a café and bar on ground floor.
• Provision of a lift to allow appropriate access to all facilities for all members of the public.
• Provision of a full M & E services upgrade.
• Full refurbishment and upgrade of all cinema screens, theatres, workshop areas, circulation areas, toilets and management/office spaces
• Provision of a “pop-up” bar area
• Delivery of a high-quality Interpretative/exhibition Fitout
The contract period is estimated to be between 15 - 18 months depending on the final Scope of works.
