The Client wishes to appoint a Contractor, who will act as an Economic Operator led Integrated Supply Team (IST) with experience in delivering high quality construction projects on time and within budget. The project is for the design and construction of a new build Innovation Centre for Southern Regional College (SRC) at Patrick Street, Newry (Develop and Construct procurement). Works include the following: • Demolition of and making good of existing hardstanding and substructures (including existing piles and pile caps from the previous sports complex). • Earthworks to facilitate the new build. • New build innovation centre to include IT Suites, Science, Engineering and Project Based Learning education accommodation as well as social spaces. This includes flood mitigation measures within the fabric of the new building. • New external works, including set down, road, parking and pedestrian areas to connect in with the existing Newry East campus. • New drainage network including storm, foul and attenuation. • New Utility services to supply the building. • Other new ancillary works, hardstanding, boundary, landscaping and planting works. • Removal of existing, and provision of new, pedestrian crossing on Patrick Street. • Works to existing historic stone wall around the Site and along Patrick Street. • Works to the existing Newry East campus, including but not limited to, rear bin and accessway, front landscaping and new NIE substation. Note this will be within a live educational environment. The RIBA 5 construction period is estimated at 18 months (excludes RIBA 4 design period).
